How to Fix Xbox One HDMI No Signal & Black or Blue Screen Issue?
If your Xbox HDMI is not working or seeing a “No Signal”, Black, or Blue screen on your Xbox TV, then don’t worry. You can fix the Xbox One HDMI No Signal issue by following the below steps.
QUICK FIX: Xbox One HDMI No Signal
- Check the HDMI Ports or Plug the Cable into the second HDMI port.
- Check if the HDMI cables are not damaged, if possible use another cable.
- Launch your Xbox in Low-Resolution Mode and then change the display settings.
- Reset AVR.
- Repair your Xbox console.
1. Check the HDMI Ports of the Xbox One and Monitor.
Pull both ends of your HDMI cable and make sure that it is not damaged or loose. Now check both HDMI ports of your Xbox console and Monitor. If you see any unwanted thing, dust, or tiny materials, lightly spray compressed air into the ports to clean the HDMI ports.
Now put the HDMI cable in the Xbox and Monitor HDMI port, and make sure it is connecting properly. If you find it loose or damaged, then you should plug the cable into a different HDMI port of your Monitor.
2. Check if the HDMI cables are not damaged.
After checking the HDMI ports of your console and Monitor, make sure that the HDMI cables are not damaged. If you are using a damaged or broken cable to connect your Monitor or TV to your Xbox console, it will lead to an Xbox One HDMI No Signal error.
You should try using a new HDMI cable to connect your Xbox console to your TV. If you can’t manage to arrange another HDMI cable then you should clean corrosion and dust particles from the cable ends.
3. Plug the Cable into the HDMI Out To Tv.
It is recommended that you should plug the cable into the HDMI Out To Tv port of your Xbox console. Go to the back side of your console, and you can see the first HDMI port (HDMI Out To Tv).
You have to plug the HDMI cable into the first port and then plug the another-end of the cable into your TV. Make sure that you haven’t plugged the cable into (HDMI IN FROM SAT/SLASH) otherwise you’ll not get a signal to your TV.
4. Launch your Xbox in Low-Resolution Mode.
Your Monitor may not sync with your Xbox console because of High-Resolution graphics, and thus you can see the ‘No Signal’ error on your screen. Thankfully, we have a solution for this and you can launch your Xbox in Lo-resolution mode.
Step 1: If there’s a disc in the console, Eject it.
Step 2: Now you have to completely power down your Xbox console. Go to the front of your Xbox console, and hold down the Power (Xbox symbol) button for about 10 seconds or until you hear a beep and the cooling fan grinding to a halt.
Step 3: Wait for some time and make sure that your Xbox is completely turned off. Now we will boot the Xbox console in Low-resolution mode and you can change the display settings later.
Step 4: Press the Eject button and the Power button (Xbox logo) at the same time and hold it for approx 15 – 20 seconds until you hear two beep sounds to turn on the console. Don’t let go until you hear the second beep or see the console start up in low-resolution mode. You’ll see the resolution slightly low on your screen, but it will fix the Xbox One HDMI No Signal error.
5. Change Display Settings.
Once your Xbox One starts in the Low-resolution mode, you can change the Display settings.
- Press the Xbox button on your controller to bring up the side menu.
- Now navigate to the System > Settings > Display & Sound > Video output.
- There you can see the current resolution of your TV which is set to 480P.
- Select the Resolution option and Choose the Highest Resolution such as 720P, 1080P, and 4K depending on your TV.
- Now a pop-up will appear and select the Yes button to change the resolution.
6. Restart AVR if your Xbox Screen is Black.
If you are using an AVR (audio-video receiver) on your console that’s also connected to your TV, then you might face the Black screen issue.
Step 1: Completely turn off all devices such as your Xbox console, TV, and AVR.
Step 2: Now Turn on your TV first, Once your TV is displaying a picture. Turn on the AVR and your Xbox console as well.
Step 3: Use the Input button on your TV’s remote control to switch the input source of your AVR away from the console and then back (for example, HDMI1 to HDMI2, and then back to HDMI1).
Step 4: Restart the AVR & Set your TV connection to HDMI:
-
- Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
- Select Profile & system > Settings > General > TV & display options.
- Select Video fidelity & overscan.
- Under the Display dropdown menu, select HDMI.
